You may browse and access much of the information contained in this website without providing any personal information.

 

Where you voluntarily provide personal information for the purposes of accessing Leadership Development Centre services (e.g. through email feedback, requesting to be notified of new material on the site (not yet implemented), submitting a registration booking or application form) we will use that information carefully and take reasonable steps to secure it. In dealing with personal information, the Leadership Development Centre complies with the Privacy Act (1993). Your personal information will not be disclosed to parties outside the Leadership Development Centre, except where these parties are integral to the processes supporting the services.

 

The following processes have specific statements that are governed by this policy:

Personal Information

As part of the services provided by the Leadership Development Centre, we collect and record personal information which will include your name, current address, your occupation and qualifications, your past, present and anticipated areas of work, your academic qualifications and achievements, opinions from others on your work, academic performance or performance in assessment processes and potentially sensitive information about your health or criminal record.

 

In general, the purposes for which we collect your personal information include:

  • assessing applications for admission to the Public Sector Advanced Leadership Programme;
  • developing and managing your Individual Development Plan;
  • providing information for the Leadership Development Centre and other parties directly involved; and
  • being used at an aggregated level by the State Services Commissioner to answer questions about the whole of government view (quantity, quality and diversity) of managers ready to take senior leadership role in the Public Service.

How Personal Information is Collected

We may obtain personal information in a number of ways including:

  • directly from you, e.g. when you submit an application or respond to requests for information, or contact us;
  • from third parties, such as your employers, sponsors, participating universities, academic institutions; and
  • from others who have offered to act as your referees.

Who Has Access to Your Personal Information?

Your personal information may be disclosed to:

  • your employers and sponsors;
  • our suppliers and professional advisers integral to the delivery of our assessment and development services
  • your referees;
  • the State Services Commissioner as primary sponsor of the Programme, and
  • any person or entity with lawful entitlement to obtain the information

Your consent to the above disclosures is taken to have been given when you submit a Personal Profile, nomination to the Public Sector Advanced Leadership Programme or any other nomination or application.

 

Data Quality

The personal information collected from you is assumed to be accurate, complete and up to date. If at any time you believe this is not the case please advise us.

 

Data Security

We have taken reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse or loss or unauthorised access. We hold your personal information in computers and paper based files and other records. These facilities and records are located on site at the Leadership Development Centre, with the exception of parts of the computer network and web-based data stores whose management is outsourced to specialist suppliers. We have entered into agreements with these parties to protect your information.

You have a right to access your personal information and to ask for that information to be corrected, updated or made more complete.
