Leaders don’t have all the answers. To lead effectively, you need your team, and your team needs support to try out and experiment with different ways of working. Are you holding yourself and your team back from achieving real success at work?

Are you able to approach challenges from different angles, listen to others’ perspectives, and accommodate new ideas? Do you encourage your teams to think and work differently?

Getting unstuck from your default patterns is hard. Our biases and fear can prevent us from seeing things clearly and hold back our leadership potential. In this Learning Lab, facilitator Travis Wallach will help you recognise your default positions and teach you some ways to break away from them. He’ll help you to look at developing a more flexible mindset, to become a more adaptive leader.

You’ll have the opportunity to talk to share perspectives with others on the importance of ‘leadership wisdom’, and how to cultivate this within your teams. You’ll learn techniques and design safe experiments that encourage you and your teams to think differently, shift mindsets and uncover new pathways for success.

Explore:

  • the biases and beliefs holding you back from leading successfully
  • how to move beyond fear and your current world view
  • the benefits of not knowing
  • taking steps to setting up a life-long learning focus.

Facilitator Travis Wallach

Travis is a highly experienced leadership development coach with real-world leadership experience. 20 years of directing human-centred change for organisations across New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

An MSc in Coaching Psychology and a decade of leadership coaching underpins Travis’ wisdom for understanding the complex challenges leaders face in today’s world.

Travis’ research interests include ‘selfless leadership and the integrated self’, ‘successful aging and work’, ‘systemic leadership coaching’, and ‘mindfulness-based resilience’. One thing he knows to be true, is that we overload leaders with expectation when it comes to leading change.
