Understanding our mindset and developing our leadership style so that we encourage our teams to think more broadly, make braver decisions and be creative is critical to achieving results for the communities we serve.

Ability will only get you so far, but your mindset will be the ultimate key to your success.

In this Learning Lab, gain insights into how to make better decisions, interact with others more effectively, increase your self-awareness and cognitive ability – and ultimately enhance your own and your team’s performance.

LDC facilitator Yvonne Mclean will help you:

  • understand your default mindset - do you have a fixed or growth mindset? How does it impact on the way you approach issues and work with others?
  • understand the role that praise and criticism have and how they correlate to the growth and fixed mindset
  • understand how your mindset is key to how you develop as a leader
  • learn some strategies to develop a mindset that will bring out the best in yourself and your people, and help them to grow as leaders.

“…intelligence and creativity … can be cultivated through effort and deliberate practice.” (

Facilitator Yvonne Mclean

Yvonne is an LDC coach and facilitator, based in Auckland. Her special interest areas are communication, coaching (including training people in coaching for leadership), building resilience, overcoming fear and negative self-talk, and dealing with conflict. Find out more…
