Details

Imagine the results if public sector leaders and technical experts unleashed their expertise and shared their knowledge across the sector.

Would you like to share your skills and knowledge gained from your professional experience by becoming a mentor and 'pay it forward'?

Mentoring is a transference of wisdom, skills, insights, skills and experience. The mentoring process helps you to develop others and build their career satisfaction, as well as strengthening organisational resilience.

Having quality mentoring skills is a valuable part of successful leadership. People are your most important resource and mentoring shows the value you place on development and learning. You also get to reflect on your own leadership and maybe find a new appreciation of your own wisdom.

If you’re thinking about becoming a mentor, or have started mentoring and would like some guidance, come to this half-day interactive workshop. You’ll get the opportunity to practice being both a mentor and a mentee. Bring your own real-life professional issue to use, which you’ll be happy to share with others, so you can learn and experience success as a mentor.

You will find out how to:

  • apply structure and rigour to mentoring conversations
  • apply essential mentoring principles
  • build your confidence as a mentor and tap into your wisdom and experience
  • encourage ownership of your mentee’s professional growth.
