Governance - the process of decision making and the process by which decisions are implemented or not implemented.
In this clinic, LDC 2013 Fellow Carolyn Risk challenged members to consider the characteristics of good governance. Carolyn reported on the research she did earlier in 2013 on the principles of governance and their relevance to the public sector. She discussed the:
- role of governance arrangements
- challenges associated with defining appropriate governance arrangements
- roles and responsibilities of the participants in the governance process
- factors that influence the design of governance arrangements.
She focussed in particular on the application of the principles to the functional leadership roles and the governance implications for other agencies of those roles.
