Brendan has practical experience coaching senior leaders in New Zealand and across the Pacific Islands. He brings fifteen years’ experience as a government department chief executive dealing with a myriad of challenges and crises. He has extensive experience leading change and managing the personal challenges inherent in a chief executive role.
As a coach, he likes to focus on the challenges that keep a leader awake at night and draws on his own leadership experience to help leaders navigate ambiguity and complexity.
Brendan is very experienced at managing the political/executive interface. He is able to draw on his extensive experience working directly as a chief executive with over forty Ministers, across a wide range of political parties. As a previous chief executive, he is acutely aware of the professional and personal challenges and risks.
Brendan is currently engaged in a number of governance roles and consulting assignments.
