Peer learning offers leaders a range of processes to learn with and through others. It helps bring both structure and curiosity to leadership reflection, helping you gain insight so you can more successfully navigate the leadership challenges you face.

Important: If you would like to use this toolkit and engage in peer learning as a tool for development, we strongly recommend seeking support from your HR department or a certified coach / facilitator. This will help ensure the process is well-structured, used appropriately, and guided in a way that creates a productive and respectful learning environment.

Peer learning processes might sit inside a leadership development programme, or be on offer within your organisation in a formal or informal way.

Peer learning helps you to:

  • hone the skills and practices of self-reflection, listening and asking powerful questions.
  • help gain self-awareness into leadership challenges.
  • gain new perspectives on aspects of your leadership.
  • bring a greater sense of accountability.
  • role model a growth mindset to help establish a learning culture in your team.
  • grow your leadership networks and connections.

This toolkit is for all leaders from those new in a leadership role through to those who are more experienced. It offers a basic overview of peer learning as a process, how to set up for success, and includes many practical tools such as agendas and checklists to ensure ongoing success.

After you have completed a toolkit, we would appreciate any feedback via our Toolkit Evaluation Form.
