Expressions of interest for the AI development programme starting 18 May are now open.

Join this programme to build your confidence as a public servant using artificial intelligence (AI) safely, responsibly and appropriately in your work.

This facilitated online programme focuses on practical skills, real public sector examples and human oversight. You will be supported to think critically about where and how AI can be used in a public service context, and how to navigate risk, judgment and accountability.

This programme is for public servants who:

  • have completed (or are familiar with) foundational AI learning
  • are beginning to use AI tools, or expect to do so
  • influence how AI is used in teams, projects, or processes
  • want to explore real public sector use cases
  • are keen to learn with and from peers across agencies.

No technical or digital background required.

The programme includes:

  • Three 90‑minute facilitated workshops.
  • Short self‑paced digital learning (approximately 1-2 hours), which participants complete before each workshop.
  • Facilitated conversation, realistic public sector case studies and applied discussion during live workshops.

View workshop dates and complete the expression of interest form on the AI Development Programme webpage.
